News Trading

News Trading on Instant Pro ▼

News trading is allowed.

News Trading on Other Accounts ▼

Trading during high-impact news carries significant risks due to:
Sudden volatility
Slippage
Wider spreads

For this reason, Moneta Funded prohibits trading during high-impact news.

What Is Prohibited?
Opening or closing any trade during:
5 minutes before the event
5 minutes after the event
This includes:
• Manual trading
• Closing a trade through TP or SL

What Is Allowed?
If the trade was opened two hours or more before the event:
It may be closed during the news event, including by TP or SL.

Penalties
• Profits resulting from the breach may be deducted.
• Repeated breaches may result in account restrictions or a violation.

Important Advice
Always monitor:
Economic Calendar
High-Impact News Times
and plan your trades in advance

Profit Split

For All Accounts 88%

Payout Policy

For All Accounts ▼

Bi-weekly payouts; minimum payout: $100.
Except Instant Pro: the first payout is on demand, followed by bi-weekly payouts.

Account Rules

Position Holding ▼

Overnight and weekend holding is allowed on all accounts.

Copy Trading ▼

Is copy trading allowed?
Yes, but only under strict conditions.

Allowed:
Copy trading is permitted only between your own personal accounts. All accounts must be registered under the same name and owned by the same person.

Prohibited:
• Copying between different people.
• Copying between friends or relatives.
• Using signal providers or any external copy-trading service.
• Copying remains prohibited even when the other account owner has given permission.

Consequences:
A violation may result in an account breach, suspension, or disqualification from the program.

Expert Advisors / Automated Trading ▼

At Moneta Funded, Expert Advisors may be used only on trading accounts owned by the same trader.

An EA is permitted when it is either:
• A trade copier used exclusively to copy positions between the trader's own accounts; or
• A custom automated system developed and owned by the trader.

Expert Advisors may be allowed on certain Moneta Funded programs under these conditions, but they are not permitted on the Sprint Challenge.

Third-party EAs, commercially distributed bots, and signal services are prohibited. Moneta Funded may review automated trading activity and request evidence of ownership and authorized use. Accounts using unauthorized automated systems may have profits adjusted or may face other action under the Terms and Conditions.

IP Address Rule ▼

Moneta Funded handles IP and device changes with considerable flexibility while maintaining a fair and secure trading environment.

Allowed:
• Trading from multiple IP addresses.
• Using multiple personal devices.
A normal IP change is not automatically treated as a violation.

What is monitored?
The main concern is multiple accounts being accessed from the same IP. In that case, the firm may contact the trader for clarification before taking action because it may indicate account management for others or shared/managed accounts.

CID monitoring:
In addition to IP data, Moneta Funded tracks the Computer ID (CID), a unique device identifier. Using one device for several unrelated accounts may raise concerns about prohibited trading activity, account management, or KYC integrity.

Scaling for Evaluation Accounts ▼

There is no scaling plan for One-Step or Two-Step evaluation accounts.

Scaling for Instant Accounts ▼

There is no scaling plan for the standard Instant account. Scaling is available only through the Phoenix Instant program.

How Phoenix Scaling works:
The Phoenix Scaling Program automatically moves the trader to the next level after the required target for the current level is achieved. Traders may start at Level 1, Level 2, Level 3, or Level 4.

To advance, the trader must achieve a 10% profit target on the current account. Once reached, that 10% profit is transferred as a withdrawable balance to the next level.

The balance may be withdrawn at the next payout, provided the trader meets all payout requirements, including a minimum 14-day payout period and at least 3 profitable days.

Example:
A trader starting at Level 2 with a $5,000 account who earns 10% ($500) is automatically moved to Level 3 with a $10,000 account. The $500 becomes a withdrawable balance.

At Level 3, the trader has two options:
Option 1 — Continue scaling: trade toward the Level 3 target of 10% ($1,000). Reaching it moves the account to the next level.
Option 2 — Request a payout: after at least 14 days from the first trade and at least 3 profitable days, the trader may withdraw the carried $500 plus any new profits earned on the Level 3 account.

For example, if another $200 is earned at Level 3, the trader may request $700, provided all payout conditions are met. Withdrawing the $700 does not reduce the Level 3 scaling target: the full 10% ($1,000) target must still be achieved to advance.

Account Merging ▼

Account merging is allowed under specific conditions:
• All accounts must still be at their Initial Balance.
• The merged account must not exceed $100,000.
• Merging is not automatic; the trader must contact Support.
• Every account must fully meet the eligibility requirements before the request is approved.

Summary:
Merging is permitted, but the maximum final balance is $100K.

Inactivity Rule ▼

An account is permanently closed if no trade is placed for 30 days.

Maximum Floating Loss Per Symbol ▼

What is the Maximum Floating Loss rule?
This is a risk-management rule for Moneta Funded Funded accounts only; it does not apply during the evaluation stage. It prevents a trader from concentrating an excessive floating loss on one symbol or one trade idea. The rule includes unrealized losses on open positions, not only closed losses.

1. Activation thresholds:
• Funded Two-Step accounts and Instant Pro: the rule is triggered when floating loss on the same symbol reaches 3%.
• Funded One-Step accounts, standard Instant Funding accounts, and Phoenix accounts: the rule is triggered when floating loss on the same symbol reaches 2%.

2. What happens when the threshold is reached?
• All open positions on the affected Funded account are closed automatically.
• The trader receives an automated email notification.
• New positions cannot be opened until the daily reset.
• The affected account is moved to a temporary 1.5% risk limit per trade idea.

The daily reset occurs at 22:00 UTC. The first occurrence at the 2% or 3% floating-loss threshold is treated as a warning and risk-control action, not an immediate account breach. However, after the 1.5% limit is imposed, that limit becomes strict and any breach of it fails the affected account.

3. What does the 1.5% per-trade-idea limit mean?
The trader must not allow the floating loss on one symbol or one combined trade idea to exceed 1.5% of the affected Funded account. Exceeding the limit after the restriction is applied is an actual breach, not another warning.

4. Does it affect every Funded account?
No. Only the account that triggered the 2% or 3% threshold is moved to the temporary restriction. If the trader later breaches 1.5%, only the affected account is failed.

5. Can the 1.5% restriction be removed?
Yes, after all of the following are completed:
14 days have passed.
20 trades have been executed on a separate Funded account.
• The trader remained compliant with the temporary risk limit throughout the period.

6. Purpose of the rule:
The rule encourages responsible risk management and prevents most of the available daily risk from being concentrated in one symbol or one idea through realized loss, floating loss, or stop-loss exposure.

Summary:
Reaching 2% or 3% does not immediately fail the account. It closes the affected positions, pauses trading until the reset, and imposes a temporary 1.5% per-trade-idea limit. Once that limit is active, exceeding it breaches the affected Funded account.

Temporary Risk Restrictions ▼

What are temporary risk restrictions?
They are temporary protective controls applied by the Moneta Funded risk team to certain Funded accounts. Their purpose is to protect account stability and reduce the probability of a large loss caused by concentrated or undisciplined risk. The maximum permitted risk may be set to 1.5% per trade idea for the duration of the restriction.

1. When may restrictions be applied?
Examples include:
• Floating loss above 3% on the same symbol on a Funded Two-Step account.
• Floating loss above 2% on the same symbol on a Funded One-Step, Instant, or Phoenix account.
• Another violation involving restricted trading methods or risk-management rules.
• Martingale, grid trading, increasing position size to recover losses, or similar high-risk methods.
• Adding multiple positions in a way that materially increases total exposure.
• Concentrating a large share of account risk in one trade idea.
• Opening multiple strongly correlated positions that together represent one concentrated risk.

If a trader has several Funded accounts, only the account that exceeds its applicable floating-loss threshold is automatically moved to the 1.5% restriction, unless broader correlated exposure justifies applying controls to more than one account.

2. What do the restrictions include?
• A maximum of 1.5% risk per trade idea.
• Related or correlated positions may be grouped as one trade idea.
• Position risk may be limited across one trade or a group of connected trades.
• Restrictions may cover several Funded accounts if the overall exposure is concentrated or correlated.

3. Duration and removal:
• The restriction may be removed after 14 days.
• The trader must execute 20 trades on a separate Funded account while respecting the imposed limit.
• All Funded-account rules must be followed during the restricted period.
• Exceeding 1.5% while the restriction is active breaches the affected account.

4. How risk is assessed:
Risk is evaluated using the realized or potential loss of the trade or connected group of trades, the effective stop-loss or invalidation point, and the potential loss relative to account capital. Multiple positions on the same symbol or strongly correlated instruments may be treated as one trade idea.

Benefits:
The controls promote repeatable risk management, reduce the impact of a single concentrated loss, support long-term account stability, protect the trader from excessive exposure, and improve discipline in position sizing.

Summary:
Temporary restrictions are preventive, not automatically punitive. Disciplined trading preserves greater freedom; excessive concentration or dangerous recovery methods may trigger a temporary 1.5% risk limit per trade idea.

KYC Verification ▼

Required KYC documents

1. Government-issued photo ID:
After completing the evaluation, submit a valid government-issued document such as a passport, national identity card, or driving licence.

The following are not accepted:
• Paper identity cards.
• Temporary permits.
• Residence permits.
• Expired documents.

2. Live selfie verification:
After uploading the document, the trader must take a live selfie so the account holder can be matched to the submitted identification.

Maximum Capital Allocation ▼

Maximum Capital Allocation at Moneta Funded

1. Challenge accounts:
There is no limit on the number of accounts that may be purchased and traded during the evaluation stage.

2. Funded accounts:
• Phoenix program: maximum allocation of $2,000,000.
• Other programs, including Instant, One-Step, and Two-Step: maximum allocation of $100,000 per program.

3. Overall limit per trader:
Different programs may be combined up to a maximum total Funded allocation of $2,300,000.

4. Combining accounts:
• Multiple accounts within one program are allowed as long as the program's $100K cap is not exceeded. Example: two $50K accounts are permitted, but $100K plus $50K in the same program is not.
• Different programs may be combined. Example: $100K Instant plus $100K One-Step is allowed.

Summary:
Evaluations are unlimited; Funded allocation is capped by program; total Funded allocation is capped at $2.3 million.

Prohibited Strategies ▼

Prohibited Trading Strategies at Moneta Funded

Moneta Funded allows broad trading flexibility, including approved EAs and assistance tools, but the following methods are prohibited and may cause immediate account closure:
• Martingale.
• Reverse Trading between accounts.
• Copy trading between different users.
• High-Frequency Trading (HFT).
• Grid Trading or balanced hedging designed to remove normal market risk.
• Latency Arbitrage.
• Exploitation of the demo environment.
• Account sharing.
• Fraud, cheating, poor risk management, or system exploitation.

Risk management:
Trading must reflect a genuine strategy and logical, sustainable risk management. It may be treated as a violation when a trader risks a large share of the daily limit on one trade, uses most or all available margin on one trade or correlated group, or exposes the account to unsustainable loss. The firm may impose temporary controls such as a per-trade risk limit.

Martingale:
Small, deliberate position adjustments may be acceptable, but repeated doubling or materially increasing exposure to recover losses is prohibited.

Reverse Trading:
Opening opposite positions across accounts, whether inside or outside the firm, may lead to account closure and a permanent ban.

HFT and scalping:
Normal scalping is allowed. Genuine HFT, where a very large number of trades is executed at extreme speed and relies on execution latency rather than analysis, is prohibited.

Grid Trading and Latency Arbitrage:
Opening matched buy and sell grids to create near risk-free outcomes, or exploiting delayed prices for an unfair advantage, is prohibited.

Demo exploitation and account sharing:
Exploiting pricing faults or delays instead of reporting them, sharing or selling an account, or allowing another person to trade it may result in cancellation and a permanent ban.

Expert Advisors:
Allowed only when developed and owned by the trader, or used solely to copy trades between the trader's own accounts. Commercial EAs and signal services are prohibited.

Copy trading:
Allowed only between the same trader's personal accounts; copying between different users is prohibited.

News trading:
News trading is not allowed on evaluation or Funded accounts.

Important:
The firm may review any account at any time and may not disclose every detection detail. A confirmed violation may lead to a ban without a refund.

Summary:
Moneta Funded expects disciplined trading, genuine risk management, and a fair environment. Attempts to bypass or exploit the system may terminate the account.

Profitable Days ▼

Minimum profitable days:
• One-Step, Two-Step, and Phoenix: 3 profitable days.
• Standard Instant account: 5 profitable days.

How a Profitable Day is calculated:
A Profitable Day is one in which net profit is at least 0.5% of the initial account size.
Formula: total daily profits minus total daily losses ≥ 0.5% of the account.
Examples: a $100K account requires $500 net profit; a $10K account requires $50.

Time calculation:
The day is measured from midnight to midnight in server time. The lower of the end-of-day balance or equity is compared with the previous day's balance.

Important rules:
• Profitable days do not need to be consecutive.
• Even when the account is below its original balance, new Profitable Days can still be recorded normally.

Purpose:
The rule rewards consistency and stable performance and reduces reliance on one high-risk winning trade to pass the evaluation.
