News Trading

News Trading ▼

News trading is allowed on Express, Classic, and Instant accounts.

There is currently no published restricted time window before or after news events.

However, news trading is subject to the company's Risk Review Policy. Several factors may be considered together, including:
• Margin utilisation.
• Trade duration.
• Market volatility.
• The size and overall risk of open positions.

Trading during a major news event is not a breach by itself. However, using very high margin together with an extremely short-duration trade during severe volatility may trigger a risk review as a high-risk trading approach.

Account Rules

Holding Trades ▼

Overnight holding is allowed on all accounts.

Weekend holding is allowed on Express and Classic accounts.

On Instant accounts, holding trades over the weekend is not allowed. All positions must be closed before 4:30 PM EST on Friday. If any position remains open after this time, the system will close it automatically. New positions can be opened again once the market reopens.

Daily Drawdown Calculation ▼

The daily drawdown calculation differs depending on the account type.

One-Step Express:
Daily drawdown: 4%. It is calculated based on the closed account balance (Balance) at the daily reset.

Two-Step Classic:
Daily drawdown: 4%. It is calculated based on the closed account balance (Balance) at the daily reset.

Instant Account:
Daily drawdown: 6%. At the daily reset, the account balance and equity are compared, and the higher of the two is used as the reference for calculating the new daily drawdown limit.

Important:
On the Instant Account, unrealized profits at the time of the daily reset may increase the reference value used to calculate the following day's daily drawdown limit.

Once the daily drawdown limit has been set, neither the account Balance nor Equity may reach or fall below that limit. Breaching the daily drawdown limit is considered a Hard Breach and results in the account being closed.

Total Drawdown ▼

The total drawdown calculation differs depending on the account type.

One-Step Express:
Total drawdown: 6% Relative Trailing Drawdown.
It is based on the highest closed account balance reached. The loss limit moves upward as new balance highs are achieved.
The drawdown amount remains equal to 6% of the account's initial balance.
Once the loss limit reaches the initial account balance, it stops trailing and becomes fixed at that level.

Example:
On a $100,000 account, the initial loss limit is $94,000. If the highest closed balance rises to $102,000, the loss limit moves to $96,000. Once the highest closed balance reaches $106,000, the loss limit reaches $100,000 and stops moving after that.

Two-Step Classic:
Total drawdown: 8% Static Drawdown.
The loss limit is based on the account's initial balance and does not move upward as profits are generated.
Example: On a $100,000 account, the total loss limit remains fixed at $92,000.

Instant Account:
Total drawdown: 6% Relative Trailing Drawdown.
It is based on the highest closed account balance and trails in the same way as the Express account. Once the loss limit reaches the initial account balance, it stops trailing and becomes fixed at that level.

Important:
On Express and Instant accounts, the high-water mark used for the total drawdown is based on the closed balance, not unrealized profits. However, the account equity must not fall below the applicable total drawdown limit.

Payouts do not reset or reduce the account's recorded High-Water Mark and do not reduce the drawdown limit already reached. As a result, the remaining drawdown buffer may become smaller after a payout.

Example:
If a $100,000 account reaches a balance of $110,000 and the drawdown limit has become fixed at $100,000, then a $4,000 payout reduces the balance to $106,000. The drawdown limit remains at $100,000, leaving a remaining drawdown buffer of $6,000.

After a Scaling increase on an Express or Instant account, the total drawdown becomes a Static Drawdown based on the new account level.

Consistency Rule — Classic ▼

The consistency rule applies only to the Two-Step Classic program.

During the Evaluation:
Your best trading day must not account for more than 35% of the total profits generated during the phase. Only closed profits are used in the calculation, while unrealized profits are not included.

If the 35% threshold is exceeded, the account is not closed and it is not considered a hard breach. However, the phase will not be considered passed until you continue trading and the best-day percentage falls to 35% or less of total profits.

On the FT+ Trader account:
Your best trading day must not account for more than 50% of the total profits generated during the current payout period.

If the 50% threshold is exceeded, the account is not closed, but you will not be eligible to request a payout until the best-day percentage falls to 50% or less.

After a successful payout, a new consistency period begins and the rule is calculated again based on trades placed after that payout.

Express and Instant accounts do not currently have a consistency rule.

Copy Trading ▼

Copy Trading Rules

Copy trading is allowed between your own personal accounts only.

Copying trades from another trader, or allowing another trader to copy your trades, is prohibited and may result in profits being voided in accordance with the company's Terms and Conditions.

When reviewing prohibited copy trading between different traders, the opening and closing times of the trades do not need to match exactly. If trades on the same market and in the same direction overlap across accounts belonging to different traders, they may be considered copy trading, subject to the company's final review.

If you trade across multiple personal accounts that belong to you, you are allowed to manage them together and use trade copier software between those accounts.

Expert Advisors | Automated Trading ▼

Funded Trading Plus allows the use of Expert Advisors (EAs), algorithms (Algos), and trading bots, provided that all program rules and risk policies are followed.

The platforms currently offered by the company are MT5 and Match Trader. The use of automated trading tools depends on whether the tool is compatible with the platform being used.

Prohibited strategies and methods include:
• Arbitrage.
• Latency Arbitrage.
• Grid Trading.
• Tick Scalping.
• Certain High-Frequency Trading (HFT) strategies.
• Exploiting technical flaws or inefficiencies in the simulated trading environment.

Normal scalping is allowed, provided that it is not used as part of a strategy designed to exploit the simulated environment in an unrealistic manner or in a way that conflicts with the company's risk policy.

Automated trading systems must also not be used to bypass company rules, perform prohibited copy trading between different traders, or hedge across accounts.

Hedging ▼

Funded Trading Plus allows hedging within the same account.

This means you may open both a buy and a sell position on the same instrument within the same account.

This rule applies to both Challenge accounts and FT+ Trader accounts.

Hedging between different accounts is prohibited.
For example, you may not open a buy position on Gold in one account and a sell position on Gold in another account at the same time.

This restriction applies even if both accounts belong to the same trader.

Scaling — One-Step Express ▼

The scaling target for the One-Step Express program is to achieve 10% profit on the FT+ Trader account.

Scaling cannot be requested on the challenge account and is only available after reaching the FT+ Trader stage.

Scaling requirements:
• The closed balance must reach the required scaling target.
• There must be no open trades when submitting the scaling request.
• The required 10% profit must be present in the closed balance.
• A new 10% profit must be achieved at each scaling level. Profits from previous levels do not count toward the next level.
• All scaling requests are subject to a Risk Review.

Standard scaling is available progressively up to $2,500,000. Moving from $2,500,000 to $5,000,000 requires the Scaling Add-On to have been purchased at checkout when the account was originally bought. It cannot be added later.

After scaling, the total drawdown becomes a Static Drawdown based on the new account level.

Scaling — Two-Step Classic ▼

The scaling target for the Two-Step Classic program is to achieve 20% profit on the FT+ Trader account.

Scaling requirements:
• The required 50% consistency score must be met.
• At least one successful payout must be completed from the FT+ Trader account.
• The account must have been active for at least two months before the first scaling request.
• The required 20% profit must be present in the closed balance at the time of the request.
• There must be no open trades when submitting the scaling request.
• A new 20% profit must be achieved at each scaling level. Profits from previous levels do not count toward the next level, and levels cannot be skipped.
• All scaling requests are subject to a Risk Review.

The account size does not necessarily double at each level, and scaling is available progressively up to a maximum of $2,500,000.

Scaling — Instant Account ▼

The scaling target for the Instant Account is to achieve 10% profit on the FT+ Trader account.

Scaling requirements:
• The closed balance must reach the required scaling target.
• There must be no open trades when submitting the scaling request.
• The required 10% profit must be present in the closed balance.
• A new 10% profit must be achieved at each scaling level. Profits from previous levels do not count toward the next level, and levels cannot be skipped.
• All scaling requests are subject to a Risk Review.

Account Merging ▼

Funded Trading Plus allows certain FT+ Trader accounts to be merged, provided that the accounts being merged have not been traded.

The resulting merged account size must match one of the account sizes currently available within the relevant program.

The maximum merged account size is $200,000 if that account size is supported by the program. If the highest available account size in the program is $100,000, then $100,000 is the maximum merged account size.

Example: Two untraded $50,000 FT+ Trader accounts may be merged into a single $100,000 account.

Account merging does not apply to the Two-Step Classic program.

Inactivity Rule ▼

At least one trade must be executed within every 30-day period to keep the account active. The trade must be both opened and closed for it to count as trading activity.

If the account remains inactive for 30 days or more, this is considered a hard breach and the account will be closed. This rule applies to both Evaluation accounts and FT+ Trader accounts.

Once you reach the FT+ Trader stage, you must complete the identity verification (KYC). Funded Trading Plus requires the verification to be completed within 3 days. Otherwise, the account will be temporarily suspended until the verification is completed.

KYC Verification ▼

Required documents:
• A valid national ID, passport, or driving licence.
• A live selfie verification.

Once the first trade has been placed, the account is no longer eligible for a refund.

Symbol Loss Limit ▼

Daily Symbol Loss Limit: 3%

This rule applies only to the 2-Step Classic program.

Basic rule: You must not exceed a 3% loss on any single trading symbol during one trading day, such as Gold (XAU/USD).

Calculation time: The limit is calculated based on the account balance recorded at 16:59 EST on the previous day. Funded Trading Plus notes that this snapshot time changes when daylight saving time applies.

Trade aggregation: Multiple trades opened on the same symbol are treated together when calculating the Symbol Loss Limit.

Scope: The rule applies during both evaluation stages of the Classic program and also to the FT+ Trader account after passing.

Breach type: Exceeding the Symbol Loss Limit is considered a Hard Breach and results in the account being closed immediately.

Example: If the account balance at the previous day's 16:59 EST snapshot is $100,000, the maximum permitted loss on a single symbol during the following day is $3,000. If the total loss on that same symbol exceeds this limit, the account is considered to have breached the rule.

Risk Review ▼

When is a risk review conducted?

Risk reviews take place at specific points during the life of the account:
• When the evaluation is passed.
• When a Scaling request is submitted.
• When a payout is requested from an FT+ Trader account.

Margin utilisation review trigger:
The company uses an automated system to monitor the total margin used across all open positions at the same time. Once the relevant threshold for the account size is reached, the account is referred for manual review by the Risk Team.

Margin review trigger levels:
• 5K and 6K: 75%
• 10K: 70%
• 12.5K, 15K, 25K, 30K, 50K and 60K: 65%
• 100K and 125K: 60%
• 200K: 55%
• 250K and above: 50%

Exceeding these levels is not an automatic breach and does not automatically mean that the account or payout will be rejected. These percentages only trigger a manual review, and higher margin usage may still be acceptable depending on the way risk is distributed and the overall trading context.

During the review, the Risk Team considers several factors together, including:
• Account size.
• Margin utilisation across simultaneous open positions.
• Trade duration.
• Markets traded.
• Market volatility at the time.
• The number of similar positions opened on the same market at the same time.
• Any previous risk-management warnings.

The account is not assessed based on a single factor alone, and the presence of one or more risk indicators does not automatically mean that the account will fail the review.

Example: Trading during a major news event such as NFP with moderate margin usage and holding the trade for a reasonable period may be acceptable.
However, using 90% of the available margin during a highly volatile news event and closing the trade after around 10 seconds may be considered an unrealistic, high-risk Coin-Flip style of trading.

The company allows news trading, scalping and large position sizes in themselves, but the Risk Team assesses how these factors combine and how risk is managed across the account.

Account Management & Ownership ▼

The use of account management services or evaluation passing services is prohibited.

The person who purchases the account must be the same person who trades on it.

The account must be purchased in the trader's own name and using a payment method that belongs to them. Using a card or payment method belonging to another person violates the company's terms and may cause issues during identity verification (KYC).

Sharing account login credentials with another person is prohibited.

The account must also be purchased directly through the Funded Trading Plus website, rather than through account management services or third-party providers.
